Shrink wrap films are films that have been deliberately oriented after manufacture by being mechanically stretched prior to cooling. The shrink wrap film will try to regain its original form upon reheating thus ensuring a tight fit.

Shrink wrap is a film applied around a product, sealed and shrunk with heat to form a tight seal. This is commonly used to protect a product, provide a tamper evident seal, and or to combine several items into a combination pack. Printed and clear shrink bands are also very popular, instead of shrink wrapping the whole product a band of shrink is applied only where it is required. Heat shrink printed labels are also be coming very widely used. It is common to see to see a case shrink wrapped with poly film to eliminate corrugate cardboard and to make the product more visible or weather resistant.
